Israeli Soldiers Demolish Home, Retaining Walls, And Pool, Near Hebron – – IMEMC News
On Monday, Israeli soldiers invaded Birin village, south of Hebron in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, and demolished a home, retaining walls, and an agricultural pool.
Fuad al-Amour, the coordinator of the Protection and Steadfastness Committee in Masafer Yatta and Southern Hebron, said the soldiers demolished a 70 square/meter home, owned by Hatem Taha Salayma.
Al-Amour added that the soldiers also demolished retaining walls and an agricultural water collection pool, owned by several Palestinian farmers in the area.
Al-Amour called on international human rights organizations and legal groups to intervene and end the escalating Israeli violations, including the illegal colonialist activities on Palestinian lands.
It is worth mentioning that the Palestinians in the area have been subject to a serious escalation by the soldiers and the colonizers, especially since Israel is planning to expand the illegal Ma’ale Hever colony, also known as Pnei Hever, built on stolen Palestinian lands .
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention, in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
