Peter White, 75, Loved Hiking, Watersports, His Motorcycle, Gardening; Founded Landscaping Business

Peter Anderson White, a longtime resident of Old Saybrook, died Aug. 8, 2022, at the West Haven VA Medical Center after a long illness. Hey what 75.

Obit Flower Obituary ObitPeter was born in the Bronx to the late Jack and Katherine White nee Anderson. He grew up in Darien and graduated from Darien High School.

Peter was proud to have served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968. He attended Middlesex College when he returned from Vietnam.

Peter loved gardening and being outside in nature. He started his landscaping business, White’s Yard and Lawn Works, in 1993, and worked hard to provide quality service to his customers.

Peter really enjoyed spending time with family and his many friends, coffee and conversations, hiking at Rocky Neck State Park, water sports, Long Island Sound, the Connecticut River, and rides on his Kawasaki motorcycle.

Peter was predeceased by his brother, Jack; and his partner, Marie, whom he was devoted to for 30 years. He is survived by a daughter, her husband, a granddaughter and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am Saturday, Aug. 20, at Fountain Hill Cemetery, 57 High St., Deep River.
