Texas City’s landscaping ordinance is dangerous | Letters to the Editor
Every time I almost get killed when I retire from a store on Palmer Highway in Texas City, I want to write a letter to the city and ask, “What the hell were you thinking?”
The ordinance that requires companies to install landscaping on the edge of the property, which makes it almost impossible to look around unless you drive halfway in the first lane, is not only dangerous but also a waste of finances and businesses little, to make Texas City look better.
The city’s time and money should better be spent monitoring our neighborhoods’ code violations that are spiraling out of control. On every street there are cars in the yard or rubbish in the front gardens.
The city of Texas needs to clean up our neighborhoods and not endanger drivers.
