Penn State Extension offering online courses for landscaping staff | News

UNIVERSITY PARK – Penn State Extension offers a range of online courses developed with support from the Pennsylvania Landscape and Nursery Association to help landscape businesses train new and seasonal employees and bring more experienced employees into leadership roles.

The courses are designed to be of benefit to a wide range of workers and companies – from professional development for long-term employees already in the landscaping industry, such as managers and crew leaders, to training for entry-level workers to help companies in the Starting new businesses to assist team members.

“These courses help landscape companies get new hires off to a great start with information that is reinforced by working in the field,” said Sandy Feather, enhancement educator who works on the online course project. “They also help existing employees advance their knowledge and careers. The courses are another tool Penn State Extension offers to help landscape companies train their employees. And well-trained employees can work efficiently and increase company results. “

More online courses are expected to be released in the next year once they are completed.
