MCL Land’s Quinn Residential Project Boasts Top-Notch Architecture & Landscaping

Does the quality of our environment influence our well-being? The well-known Swiss philosopher Alain de Botton argues in his book The Architecture of Happiness that we are more concerned with being in a comfortable environment than we think. For many of us, our homes are where we spend most of our time. Therefore, not only our most personal rooms are of crucial importance, but also the shell, the building in which we live. MCL Land has built world class residential buildings in Singapore for the past 50 years. Not only do these condominiums meet the basic rule of real estate, location, the buildings themselves are of architectural importance. That legacy continues with Quinn, MCL Land’s first offering in Malaysia, where the developer partnered with award-winning Singapore architectural firm Architects 61 to create a new landmark for Wangsa Maju.

Architects 61’s concept for Quinn, known for designing Singapore’s CBD skyline, celebrates the project’s duality with urban life in nature. The 43-story building sits on a hill between the line of sight of downtown Kuala Lumpur and a hill of lush greenery. For ease of expression, the single tower containing the 361 units is divided into two parts. The facade is vertically offset in opposite directions, coupled with an alternating succession of horizontal elements and parasols, and then neatly framed to give it a sleek look.

The main waste reflects Quinn’s urban protection and has a large primary canopy that frames the city center and a secondary canopy that leads to the common areas on the ground floor. The architects made sure that their material palette reflects Quinn’s natural attraction – from the bronze highlights on the canopies and screens to the brown wooden panels. Common rooms were designed using the same range of materials. The E-deck on level 3, where the pools are located, envelops the main facilities in warm tropical wood. The architects have also captured the breathtaking view from the 42nd floor and added a crowning architectural feature of sleek dark gray aluminum boxes that give the tower its distinctive look.
