The father of a man who has already been arrested for allegedly breaking into a trading company and stealing items has made himself a police force.
Robert L. Petro, 81, of Waterbury, was arrested Tuesday, December 29, after a series of suspected thefts that took place in a landscaping company in Wilton in 2019, said Gregg Phillipson, Wilton police chief.
According to Phillipson, Petro and his son Michael Petro, 47, from Wolcott would enter the landscaping company’s property and steal equipment like leaf blowers, chainsaws and more.
The younger Petro was arrested a few months ago, he added.
Both men were charged with burglary, theft, and criminal offense.
The father was released on a promise to show up ticket. He is due to appear in court on Thursday, February 25th.
