PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – Pembroke Pines police are investigating a crash that injured four people Monday afternoon.
The crash was reported in the area of Sheridan Street and Dykes Road.
According to authorities, a black Chevrolet Silverado crashed into a landscaping truck.
“It was loud, but the biggest fear is because it’s right in my backyard,” Julie Gollings-Sanchez said.
We’re told a landscaping crew was about to start working on the hedges surrounding the Antigua neighborhood when the driver of the Silverado cut the corner, ran off the road and slammed into the back of the landscapers’ truck.
One member of the landscaping crew hit by the Silverado was trapped underneath another truck with multiple broken bones,
Another flipped out of the bed of their landscaping vehicle and landed on the ground, and a third was hurt, as well.
The driver of the Silverado, meanwhile, was trapped inside of it and the truck had to be pried open with the Jaws of Life before he was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

Of the four people injured, police said two have multiple broken bones and serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, and two others have minor injuries.
Neighbors were happy to hear no one was killed, but say they worry it’s a matter of time.
“Every week there’s always a crash right there. Somebody not paying attention and then they just lose control,” Gollings-Sanchez said.
Local 10 News reporter Ian Margol spoke with the landscaping crew after the accident.
Those who weren’t hurt were clearly pretty shaken up, having dived out of the way and seeing some of their friends get hit.
It’s unclear how the driver of the pickup truck lost control.
Police said the southbound lanes of Dykes Road were temporarily closed after the crash.
